ZenHome’s mobile app makes it easy to add and manage smart devices in your home. Whether you’re setting up a new smart plug, thermostat, or motion sensor, the process is simple and consistent across devices.

Before You Start

Ensure the following before adding your device:

  • The device is powered on and in pairing mode (check the LED status—usually blinking blue).
  • Your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you’ll use for the device.
  • You’ve installed the latest version of the ZenHome app on your iPhone or Android phone.

How to Add a New Device

  1. Open the ZenHome app
    Launch the app and log in if prompted.
  2. Tap the “+” icon
    Located on the top-right corner of the home screen.
  3. Select your device type
    Choose the category that matches your device—such as Smart Plug, Thermostat, Door Sensor, or Camera.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions
    Instructions vary by device. Some will prompt you to scan a QR code, while others will connect automatically via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
  5. Name your device
    Once the device is detected, you’ll be asked to assign it a name and place it in a room (optional but helpful for organizing devices).
  6. Finish the setup
    Tap Done to complete the process. The new device will appear on your ZenHome dashboard.

Troubleshooting Tips

If your device isn’t showing up:

  • Check that the device is in pairing mode. Refer to its user manual for LED indicators.
  • Restart your phone and relaunch the app.
  • Reboot the device and try the pairing steps again.
  • For iPhone users, ensure that location services and Bluetooth are enabled for the ZenHome app in Settings.
